Familiar Player Makes Return
After a 16-month hiatus from the sport, Adam Langley returned this weekend after one session to prepare for this weekend’s fixtures at the weekly training session. Despite the long period out of the sport, Adam didn’t lose his touch, thankfully.
Aspire
Having conceded 4 goals last time against Aspire, the team was eager to come back stronger in hopes of securing a huge win. Unfortunately for the team, they were unable to get on top and ended up losing 6-1 to a strong Aspire side once again; however, the team still managed to score a goal, which was a positive they could take into their next game.
Sevenoaks
The last time the two teams clashed, it ended in a 0-0 draw with no opportunities taken by either side. With this in mind, the squad wanted to secure a win for some much-needed points this time. Despite the close game last time, this time was different with Nottinghamshire PFC losing 2-0 to a much stronger and different Sevenoaks side, ending the day in 9th position on the table with no additional points to add to their tally.
Leeds Chariots
Despite last time resulting in a 2-0 loss from a scoring chance gone wrong, the team was confident this time around to come out with a win. After a tense start to the game, Nottinghamshire PFC made an aggressive push towards Leeds PFC’s goal with some early scoring chances. Following some near misses from Leeds PFC, a quick decision from Adam Langley helped the team get a 1-0 lead. However, the team met mechanical faults towards the end of the second half which meant the team was down one player. Despite this, the team continued with the team creating additional chances to score but ultimately conceded a goal toward the end, leading to a 1-1 draw vs Leeds.
Manchester United PFC
During their last encounter, Nottinghamshire PFC lost 1-0 due to a last-minute goal by the opportunistic Manchester PFC side. This time around, the team was optimistic they could come out on top with a win and points on the tally. With one player down, the team still held their own, bringing Manchester United to a 0-0 draw ensuring they didn’t lose their current table position of 9th.
WBA Throstles
Finishing off the weekend, Nottinghamshire PFC played against WBA Throstles. The team started by exerting pressure on Throstles and creating chances on goal; although, a lapse in concentration and communication during a fast-paced second half ultimately led to a 1-0 win for Throstles, leaving the Nottinghamshire PFC devastated as they were in dire need of points to support their current fight for survival.
2023/2024 Weekend 4 Conclusion
Overall, Nottinghamshire PFC was unable to secure a win this weekend, leading to them being demoted from 8th place to 9th, leaving them one place above the playoff position but the team is confident they can secure the much-needed points to avoid this scenario or overcome the worst-case scenario of relegation. The team now has 2 months to prepare and repair before their final set of fixtures against Newcastle United Foundation PFC, West Bromwich Albion PFC, Teesside PFC and Hull & East Yorkshire PFC.
